Sling Protection Construction
LiftGuard™ sling protectors are made in the USA from high-performance cast nylon, built for both durability and reliability under real lifting conditions.
The material is engineered to handle the high pressures of lifting applications while resisting abrasion and wear. It holds up across a wide temperature range, from -20°F to 220°F.
Magnets sit recessed into the protector to avoid damaging painted surfaces, and the whole unit weighs about 1/7th of a comparable steel protector, making it easy to place and reposition.
Magnetic Sling Protector Working Load Limits
Medium- and heavy-duty protectors carry a working load limit of 12,500 lbs. per inch of web sling, provided there's full 100% contact on both the vertical and horizontal load surfaces.
Grooved unit capacity depends on groove width and plate thickness. Our grooved units use a 1/2" groove, giving a WLL of 6,250 lbs. per inch of web sling with full contact.
To find your total working load limit, multiply the base WLL by your strap's width. A 4" strap on a medium-duty protector, for example, comes out to 50,000 lbs. (4 × 12,500). Always confirm the final number against your sling's own tag before using it as the basis for a lift.
