Description

3/4" 6x26 Wire Rope Cable

This 3/4" Impact® swaged 6x26 wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and compacted through a swaging process that reduces rope diameter while increasing strength, flexibility, and durability. Designed for demanding lifting and material handling applications, this wire rope offers improved resistance to crushing, abrasion, kinking, and birdcaging while delivering a longer service life than conventional non-compacted wire rope.

Compacted Wire Rope for Winch Lines, Hoists & Heavy-Duty Rigging

The Impact® swaging process compresses the rope through specialized dies, creating a smoother outer surface and denser construction. This results in increased breaking strength, enhanced spoolability, and improved resistance to wear and deformation. The 6x26 construction provides an ideal balance of flexibility and durability, making it a popular choice for winch lines, hoist ropes, boom lines, trolley lines, and choker applications.

6x26 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in increased breaking strength and improved performance under demanding loads.

The class of this wire rope is 6x26. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, indicating six outer strands surrounding the core with approximately 19-36 wires per strand. This configuration delivers an excellent combination of flexibility, strength, and resistance to wear.

Finish & Core

This wire rope features a bright steel finish lubricated with an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant. The lubricant penetrates both internal and external wires to reduce friction, minimize wear, and provide basic protection against moisture and corrosion.

The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides superior support compared to fiber core alternatives, improving crushing resistance and maintaining rope stability under load. IWRC construction is also well-suited for elevated temperature environments, with a general operating range of -40°F (-40°C) to 400°F (204°C).

Key Features

  • Impact® swaged construction increases strength compared to standard non-compacted wire rope.
  • Compacted design improves flexibility, spoolability, and service life.
  • Enhanced resistance to crushing, abrasion, kinking, pig tailing, and wear.
  • EIPS-grade steel delivers increased tensile and breaking strength.
  • Bright finish with A-1 lubricant reduces internal friction and wear.
  • IWRC core improves structural stability and crushing resistance.
  • Meets Federal Specification RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 requirements.
  • Ideal for winch lines, choker ropes, hoist ropes, trolley lines, and boom lines.

Installation Tips

  • Use wire rope hardware and end terminations properly sized for the rope diameter and application requirements.
  • Inspect rope regularly for signs of wear, broken wires, crushing, or deformation.
  • Follow applicable lifting, rigging, and wire rope inspection standards to maximize safety and service life.

Accessories & More

Complete your wire rope assembly with our selection of wire rope fittings and rigging hardware. We carry essential components for securing, connecting, and tensioning wire rope, including wire rope clips, turnbuckles, and eye bolts.
