This 7/8" 19x7 rotation-resistant wire rope is designed for lifting and hoisting applications where load stability is critical. Featuring a specialized strand construction that minimizes rotation under load, this rope is ideal for cranes, hoists, and other systems handling unguided loads. Its combination of flexibility, strength, and rotation resistance makes it a dependable solution for demanding industrial environments.
Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope for Hoisting & Crane Applications
The 19x7 construction is engineered to reduce rope spin during lifting operations. The inner strands are laid in the opposite direction of the outer strands, allowing rotational forces to counterbalance one another. This design significantly reduces load rotation and improves control when lifting unguided loads with single-part or multi-part line systems.
With more than 10 outer strands, this rope is classified as a Category 2 Rotation-Resistant Rope, providing greater resistance to rotation than Category 3 constructions such as 8x19 wire rope.
19x7 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and dependable performance under heavy loads.
The class of this wire rope is 19x7. These numbers nominally refer to the rope's construction, with 19 strands surrounding the core and approximately 3-14 wires making up each strand. This design offers a balance of flexibility, handling ease, and significant rotation resistance.
Bright Finish & IWRC Construction
This rope features a bright steel finish protected by an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both the internal and external wires. The lubricant helps reduce internal friction, minimize wear, and provide basic resistance to moisture and corrosion.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) delivers greater support than fiber core alternatives. IWRC construction improves crushing resistance, enhances load stability, and performs reliably in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 400°F.
