The Crosby® G-414SL Shackle-Loc® Extra Heavy Wire Rope Thimble is engineered to provide maximum protection for wire rope eyes while enhancing sling safety and preserving assembly integrity. Built with an extra heavy-duty design and durable galvanized finish, this specialized thimble helps prevent wear, abrasion, and eye deformation while incorporating a unique retention system that restricts field removal of the shackle.
Enhanced Sling Protection with Shackle Retention Technology
Traditional wire rope sling assemblies can be compromised when shackles are removed and replaced in the field. The Crosby Shackle-Loc® design addresses this concern by helping prevent unauthorized shackle removal, preserving the certified configuration of the wire rope sling assembly and reducing the risk of improper reassembly.
In addition to improving sling integrity, the extra heavy-duty thimble protects the wire rope eye from wear caused by repeated loading and contact with rigging hardware. This helps extend sling service life while maintaining proper eye shape under load.
