Simpson Strong-Tie ECC end column caps provide a high-capacity connection for column-beam combinations. This design requires the correct corresponding machine bolts to be installed for proper installation. The Strong-Tie ECC44HDG post base features a hot-dip galvanized coating. The minimum average coating weight is 2.0 oz./ft2 (per ASTM A123 total both sides). This product requires hot-dip galvanized fasteners (fasteners which meet the specifications of ASTM A153).
Installation:- Use all specified fasteners.
- Bolt holes shall be a minimum of 1/32" to a maximum of 1/16" larger than the bolt diameter (per 2005 NDS, section 11.1.2).
- Contact engineered wood manufacturers for connections that are not through the wide face.
Options:
- Straps may be rotated 90° where W1?W2 (see illustration) and for CC5 1/4-6.
- For special, custom, or rough cut lumber sizes, provide dimensions. An optional W2 dimension may be specified. (The W2 dimension on straps rotated 90° is limited by the W1 dimension.)
- Contact engineered wood manufacturers for connections that are not through the wide face.
NOTE: The correct fasteners installed in the correct position must be used to achieve published load values
