The WBT Wall Brace Tensioner is an efficient device designed to eliminate slack in cold-formed steel (CFS) strap bracing, enhancing the stability of braced wall panels.
Key Features:
- Slack Reduction: Removes up to 1/2" of slack from a single strap, minimizing deflection in wall panels.
- Wide Compatibility: Suitable for straps up to 6" wide and 14 gauge (68 mil) thick, including generic straps and Simpson Strong-Tie CS coil straps.
- Durable Construction: Made from 10-gauge galvanized steel (G90) with zinc electroplated bolt and nut, ensuring corrosion resistance.
- Easy Installation: Requires only a 10mm hex head socket setter for tightening, streamlining the setup process.
Installation Steps:
- Positioning: Place the WBT near the center of the diagonal brace.
- Drilling: Drill a 1/4"-diameter hole through the center of the strap width.
- Assembly: Insert the bolt through the strap hole and WBT, ensuring the nut faces the wall cavity.
- Tightening: Use a 10mm hex head socket setter to tighten the nut until the slack is removed from the strap.
