CB - Column Bases. These non-standoff column bases, also called post bases, are used to anchor posts to concrete. The bottom of the base plate is designed to be installed flush with the concrete. The CB model is for both glulam and solid sawn members ranging in size from 4x4 to 12x12.
Choosing which finish your Simpson column base requires is based on geographic region and type of weather situations your structure is likely to endure. Check with your local building inspector if you have any question about code requirements.

NOTES: Post bases do not provide adequate resistance in preventing members from rotating about the base, therefore aren’t recommended for non-top-supported installations including unbraced carports and fences. These products do not come with the associated nails or bolts that are necessary for installation. Please see the Product Guide Document for each product that specifies the associated hardware.
