Class 2 SRLs are made for the situations Class 1 units are not: anchor points that sit at or above the D-ring, or as much as about five feet below it, and work near unprotected edges. Why Leading Edge Matters

When a worker falls over an edge, the lifeline can drag across that edge and take abuse that a standard overhead fall would not cause. Leading edge devices are built and tested for this scenario, and they typically use heavy-duty cable or reinforced synthetic lifelines along with an energy absorber to manage the forces. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on edge types and fall clearance for the model you choose.
