Grade 30 Chain for Corrosive Environments
Grade 30 proof coil chain is a light-to-medium-duty, general-purpose chain built for tie-down and everyday utility work rather than overhead lifting. Available in stainless steel, it pairs that same trusted G30 chain with added corrosion resistance for agricultural, automotive, marine, and outdoor tie-down applications.
We stock stainless G30 proof coil chain in two grades: Type 304 and Type 316. Both resist rust and corrosion in everyday outdoor and wet conditions. T316 is considered marine-grade stainless and holds up better than T304 when chain is exposed to saltwater, chlorides, or other extreme corrosive environments.
Grade 30 proof coil chain links are embossed with 3, 30, or 300, and sometimes marked L3, to identify the grade.
Grade 30 chain, including stainless versions, is not approved for overhead lifting. Use it for tie-down and general-purpose applications only.
Choosing the Right Chain Grade
Every chain grade is built for a different job, and using the wrong one on a lifting or securement task carries real risk. In general:

Is stainless steel proof coil chain approved for overhead lifting?
No. Grade 30 chain, including our stainless versions, is not approved for overhead lifting. For lifting and sling applications, shop Grade 80, Grade 100, or Grade 120 chain.
What's the difference between T304 and T316 stainless chain?
Both resist corrosion in everyday outdoor conditions. T316 contains added molybdenum, which gives it stronger resistance to chlorides, making it the better choice in marine environments or heavy saltwater exposure. T304 is a solid choice for general outdoor use and low-to-moderate corrosive conditions.
