4-Leg Wire Rope Bridle Slings
4-leg wire rope slings use four equal-length sling legs connected to a single oblong master link. This configuration provides excellent load balance and control for lifts with multiple attachment points and is well suited for larger or awkwardly shaped loads.
Fasteners Plus also offers 2-leg wire rope slings and 3-leg wire rope slings for applications that require fewer lifting points.
Construction & Features
- EIPS IWRC Wire Rope: Extra Improved Plowed Steel with an Independent Wire Rope Core provides strength and resistance to crushing.
- 6x19 or 6x36 Construction: Slings 1" in diameter or smaller typically use 6x19 wire rope, while larger diameters generally use 6x36 construction.
- Flemish Eye Splicing: Each leg uses a Flemish eye with a carbon steel sleeve for a secure wire rope termination.
- Protective Thimbles: Reinforce each eye and help reduce abrasion at connection points.
- Latched Eye Hooks: Provide secure lower attachment points for compatible lifting connections.
- Metal Identification Tag: Displays sling capacity, care information, and operating instructions.
- Compliance: Meets or exceeds applicable ASME B30.9 and OSHA 1910.184 requirements.
4-Leg Wire Rope Sling Capacity Chart
Select the appropriate wire rope diameter based on the required lifting capacity and sling angle. Rated capacity changes as the angle of the sling legs changes.

How to Measure Sling Length
For a 4-leg wire rope bridle, measure each leg from the load-bearing point of the oblong master link to the load-bearing point of the lower hook or eye. Do not include the full length of the master link in the sling reach measurement.
Proof Testing
Proof-test certificates are available upon request and should be specified when ordering. For certified orders, each sling is pull tested to 2x its vertical rating and the results are documented.
