Specifications
Right Hand Regular Lay
5/16" 19x7 Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope Cable
This 5/16" 19x7 rotation-resistant wire rope is specifically engineered to minimize rope rotation while under load, making it an excellent choice for hoisting unguided loads with single-part lifting lines. Manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and built with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), this wire rope combines high strength, flexibility, and significant rotation resistance for demanding lifting and crane applications.
High-Performance Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope for Hoisting Applications
The 19x7 construction utilizes strands laid in opposing directions to counteract rotational forces generated during lifting operations. With more than ten outer strands, this rope is classified as a Category 2 Rotation-Resistant Rope, offering significantly greater resistance to spin than Category 3 options such as 8x19 wire rope. Its flexible design makes it easier to handle while providing enhanced stability when lifting free-hanging loads.
19x7 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in higher break strength and improved lifting performance.
The class of this wire rope is 19x7. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, indicating 19 outer strands with approximately 3-14 wires within each strand. This unique construction is specifically designed to reduce rope rotation while maintaining flexibility and strength.
Finish & Core
This wire rope features a bright steel finish treated with an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant. The lubricant helps reduce internal friction, minimizes wear between strands, and provides basic resistance to moisture and corrosion. Lubrication is applied to both internal and external wires for enhanced service life.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) increases crushing resistance, improves structural stability under load, and supports reliable performance in demanding lifting environments. Typical operating temperatures range from -40°F to 400°F.
