Description

The Simpson Strong-Tie RCWB Rolled Compression Wall Bracing is engineered to resist racking during construction and provide long-term strength for structural walls. Its rolled edge design enhances strength and safety, making it an effective solution for stabilizing wall frames against lateral loads.

Key Features:

  • Material: 20-gauge G90 galvanized steel for corrosion resistance.
  • Design: Rolled edge for added strength and safety.
  • Compliance: Meets code-bracing requirements as a cost-effective alternative to 1x4 let-in braces.
  • Installation: Faster install process compared to traditional methods.

Applications:

  • Residential and commercial construction projects requiring wall bracing.
  • Provides resistance to lateral loads from wind and seismic activity.
  • Helps prevent cosmetic damage and structural failure over time.

Installation:

  • Use all specified fasteners; refer to installation guidelines for details.
  • Compatible with 16" o.c. studs.
  • For load-bearing walls, use a minimum of 2x6 studs; for interior, non-load-bearing walls, 2x4 studs are acceptable.
  • Establish a run-line using the bracing as a straight edge.
  • Single-cut a saw kerf 1 1/8" deep along the run line.
  • If the wall is preframed on the floor, place the part into the saw kerf, and put one nail into the top plate.
  • Tilt the wall up and plumb before nailing off the top plate, bottom plate, and studs according to the nailing schedule.
