The Simpson ATHC-R30 Attic Truss Heel Hinge Connector is engineered for professionals building attic trusses using 2-1/2" wide I-joist or OPENJOIST flanges. Designed to reduce the need for intermediate truss webs, this connector offers efficient structural performance while improving jobsite and shipping logistics.
Its hinged design accommodates a range of roof pitches from 5:12 to 12:12. When folded, the ATHC allows space for a 2x3 knee brace to nest inside the truss, enabling flat shipment and compact storage. Built from 16-gauge steel and finished with G90 galvanization, it delivers strength and corrosion resistance for long-term reliability.
