Nylon Twisted Eye Lifting Slings
A type 4 twisted eye sling shares its construction with a type 3 flat eye sling, with one difference that matters on the job: the eye itself is twisted. That twist gives you better performance in a basket or choker hitch, and the sling still works fine in a vertical hitch too. The eye design has no effect on strength. A type 4 sling carries the same working load limit as its type 3 counterpart at the same width and ply.
Widths run from 1" to 12", available in 1-ply, 2-ply, 3-ply, or 4-ply construction, so you can add strength by stepping up plies instead of stepping up width when the job calls for it. Every sling is made to order, with a standard lead time of 1-3 days for assembly before shipping.
Choosing an Eye Type
Type 4 slings come with either a standard eye or a reinforced eye. A standard eye is built from the same nylon as the rest of the sling. A reinforced eye adds Cordura, a high-strength fabric that resists abrasion where the eye contacts lifting hooks and other hardware, extending the life of the sling at its highest-wear point. On 3" widths and up, the eye is tapered for easier attachment and release.
Need a Different Sling Material?
If your application calls for less stretch than nylon offers, a comparable polyester round sling is worth a look. And if none of our standard nylon configurations match what you need, our sales team can help.
Sling Proof Testing Certificates
Certified proof testing has to be requested at the time you place your order. For a nominal fee, a certified sling is pull tested at the factory to twice its rated vertical capacity, with the results formally recorded for compliance purposes. Outside of a certified request, only random slings from a given production run get pull tested as part of routine quality checks, since a proof-tested sling has to be tested individually during manufacturing.
