Description:
The Strong-Tie PGT1.5Z-R Pipe Grip Tie bracket is used to quickly attach your 1-7/8" OD metal fence posts to wood fencing rails, creating an unbelievably solid connection. Just tighten the clamp bolt on the bracket, zip in 4 SDS 1/4" x 1-1/2" heavy duty screws and you're done installing the tie. Whether you're replacing old rotted wood posts with sturdy metal posts or starting new fence construction, these pipe grip ties will get the job done. These fence brackets are usually installed flush to straight fence railing sections, but can also be field bent one time to accommodate corners or angled positions. The ZMAX finish provides extra protection against corrosion to make this connector last. If you have larger metal fence posts that are 2-3/8" diameter, check out our PGT2Z-R and PGT2A connectors.
Installation:
- Use all specified fasteners.

I actually used them to hold chain link posts to 6x6 fence posts. In other words transitioning from wood fence to chain link. A little wider than a 6x6 so I drilled holes to make them fit.
