1 Inch Polyester Webbing
1" Polyester Webbing for Light-Duty Straps and Custom Projects
One inch is the go-to width for lighter securement and everyday strap building. It pairs with 1" cam buckles, ratchets, and hooks, and it is easy to cut, handle, and store. Our 1" polyester cargo webbing has a 4,500 lb. break strength and comes in 11 colors, so it works for anything from replacing a worn cam strap to color coding gear straps across a crew.
Need a few feet to patch one strap? Buy it per linear foot. Cutting straps all week? The 300' roll keeps your stock consistent.
What to Build With 1" Webbing
Polyester has low stretch, so a tensioned strap stays snug. It also tends to hold up well to sun and moisture, which suits gear that lives in a truck bed, trailer, or garage. Typical uses include:
- Cam straps for lighter loads, with a matching cam buckle
- Replacement webbing for worn 1" tie down straps
- Equipment, tool, and gear straps
- Bundling and securing items like lumber, hoses, ladders, and kayaks
- Bag, pack, and carrier straps
- Color-coded straps for different trucks, crews, or load types
Add the right hardware to finish the job. Browse tie down hardware for buckles, hooks, and fittings, or start with a complete cam strap or 1" ratchet strap if you would rather not build one.
Pick Your Color
The 1" polyester webbing is offered in purple, black, blue, camo, green, gray, white, olive drab, orange, red, and yellow. Bright colors are easy to spot on a job site, while black, gray, and olive drab blend in on equipment and vehicles. Shade can shift a little from one production run to the next, so pull matching pieces from a single roll.
Is 1" the Right Width?
Choose 1" webbing for lighter loads and when your hardware is sized for it. The 4,500 lb. number is what new webbing is expected to break at. It is not a safe working figure, and a strap you assemble will be rated lower based on its buckle, hooks, and end construction. Confirm manufacturer ratings before you rely on a strap you have built.
Heavier load or wider hardware? Move up to 2" polyester webbing, or check 3" and 4" polyester webbing for the highest break strengths. To compare every width side by side, see the full polyester cargo webbing collection, or browse the broader webbing category.
Webbing sold by the foot or by the roll is raw strap material. It is not a rated lifting sling or a certified restraint, so use a finished, rated product for overhead lifting or safety-critical work.
Care and Inspection
- Look over the full length for cuts, frays, burns, and melted spots before each use.
- Where a strap crosses a sharp edge, add a wear sleeve or padding.
- Retire any webbing that is damaged.
- Keep it clean and dry, and out of long-term sun.
1" Polyester Webbing FAQs
Can I buy 1" polyester webbing by the foot?
Yes. Order the exact number of linear feet you need, or a full 300' roll.
How strong is 1" polyester webbing?
New webbing has a 4,500 lb. break strength. That is not the working load limit of a finished strap, which is lower and depends on the hardware and construction.
What hardware works with 1" webbing?
Look for buckles, ratchets, and hooks made for 1" webbing. Our tie down hardware collection is a good place to start. Confirm the width on each listing before you order.
Is polyester or nylon better for a 1" strap?
Polyester suits straps that need to hold a load steady. If you need stretch to absorb shock, look at nylon webbing.
