Nylon Strapping Material
Heavy duty nylon strap webbing combines high tensile strength with beneficial elongation.
- Tensile Strength Range: approximately 7,000 Lb. to 117,600 Lb. based on width and construction
- Stretch: about 5 to 7 percent at rated capacity and about 30 to 33 percent at breaking strength
- Recovery: retracts a significant portion of stretch which helps with vehicle recovery
- Widths: 1 in. to 12 in.
- Standard Roll Length: 300 ft.
Nylon webbing is a top choice for lifting slings and recovery straps where controlled stretch and energy absorption are important.
Polyester Webbing
Polyester cargo webbing has low stretch which helps keep loads tight during transport. It is strong and lightweight with a flat profile that is easy to route through hardware.
- Performance: low elongation for secure tie downs
- Resistant To: abrasion, UV exposure, and water absorption
- Common Uses: cargo strapping, ratchet straps, winch straps, E track straps, and tow straps
- As Lifting Slings: excellent when controlled lifting or low headroom is required
- Pre Made Options: endless slings and eye and eye slings available
- Colors: red, yellow, white, green, black, olive drab, camo, and more
- Widths: typically 1 in. to 4 in.
Strength note: width affects break strength. For example, a polyester web strap with a 3.5K tensile rating can hold 3,500 Lb. before failure. Always review the product page for exact tensile strength and use the Working Load Limit for planning.
Seat Belt Webbing
Seat belt webbing is polyester like our standard cargo webbing but at a lower cost and with fewer stock sizes and colors.
- Break Strength: approximately 6,000 Lb.
- Profile: slightly thinner than standard polyester which makes it versatile for many projects
- Great For: building economical ratchet straps and tie downs
- Hardware Compatibility: works with snap hooks, flat hooks, tie down hooks, cam buckles, ratchet buckles, and S hooks
- Other Uses: lifting straps for heavy items, replacing bag handles and straps, repairing life jackets and horse blankets, tent hoops, and custom length pet leashes
- Weatherability: resists fading, rot, mold, and mildew for harsh outdoor environments
