Endless Wire Rope Slings
An endless wire rope sling, also called a grommet, is a continuous loop sling used in heavy-duty industrial lifting. It's a good choice where extra flexibility is needed, and where a traditional wire rope sling won't fit a short rigging setup.
Construction
The continuous loop is joined with either a mechanical sleeve or a swaged sleeve. Wire rope grommets are made from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIP) with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), which resists crushing and adds strength and durability for high-capacity lifts.
- Diameters from 1/4" to 1-1/2"
- Lengths from 1 foot to 20 feet
Measuring an Endless Sling
Length is measured from the inside width, bearing point to bearing point (end to end), not by circumference.
Hitches
A wire rope grommet can be used in a basket hitch, which gives the highest rated capacity, or in a vertical or choker hitch. A choker hitch snugs the sling around the cargo for a more secure hold.
